The problem

A mobile phone is not a call centre

Most Kenyan businesses still run customer calls off a handset on somebody's desk. It works until it doesn't — and then you cannot see what you are losing.

Calls go unanswered and nobody knows

One line, one person. When they are busy or out, the caller hears ringing and quietly goes to a competitor. There is no record that the call ever happened.

No idea who said what

A customer disputes a promise, a member queries a balance, a staff member is rude. Without recordings and a call log it is one person's word against another's.

A PBX costs a fortune to start

Handsets, a box in a cupboard, cabling, an engineer on site, and a licence renewal every year. Hundreds of thousands of shillings before the first call is answered.

What you get

Everything a call center needs, on every plan

Nothing is held back for the bigger plans. A three-person support desk gets the same menus, the same recording and the same reports as a fifty-seat floor. What changes is how many people can be on the phone at once.

IVR menus in two languages

“Press 1 for support, press 2 for accounts” — recorded in English and Kiswahili, with a different menu after hours. Build it yourself, no engineer needed.

Softphone in the browser

Agents answer in a browser tab with a headset. Nothing to install, nothing to buy. A new starter is taking calls the same morning you add them.

Recording and the full call log

Every call logged with who answered, how long it rang and what happened. Record the calls you choose to record, and listen back from the dashboard.

Live wallboard and reports

Who is on a call, who is free, how long the queue is, and how yesterday went. Put the wallboard on a screen on the wall and the floor runs itself.

Outbound campaigns and bulk SMS

Load a list, dial through it, and send the follow-up by SMS from the same place. Collections, renewals, appointment reminders and surveys.

Voicemail, callbacks and queues

When everyone is busy the caller waits in a queue or leaves a message, and it comes back as a task somebody owns. No missed call disappears.

How it works

From a customer dialling to an agent answering

One Kenyan number in front, your whole team behind it — wherever they are sitting.

Customer dials your 0800 / 020 number IVR menu answers “Press 1 for support…” English or Kiswahili Routed to a queue by team and by skill, with music while waiting Agent answers in a browser tab — office, home, anywhere Recorded and logged into your reports and wallboard

Who it is for

Built for the calls Kenyan organisations actually take

Most of what a Kenyan support desk does is answer calls somebody else paid to make. That is exactly the shape this is priced for — incoming is free, so a busy help line costs you the seat and nothing more.

  • SACCOs and microfinanceBalance queries, loan follow-ups and member support, with every call recorded for the audit trail.
  • Clinics and hospitalsAppointment booking and reminders, with an after-hours menu that still takes a message.
  • Schools and collegesAdmissions enquiries in intake season without the registrar's phone melting.
  • Insurance and debt collectionOutbound campaigns through a list, with the follow-up SMS from the same screen.
  • Hosting, ISPs and retailA real support queue instead of a WhatsApp number and a prayer.

Calls and numbers

What a call actually costs

Call charges sit outside the plan and are passed on at what the carrier charges us. You top up calling credit inside the app and watch it come down — every call, message and charge shows on your statement.

WhatRate
Incoming callsSomebody ringing your number costs you nothing at all. Free
Outgoing callsBilled by the second once the call connects, so a twenty-second call costs twenty seconds. KSh 3.00per minute
Call recordingOnly on the calls you choose to record. Switch it off per team and it costs nothing. KSh 0.50per recorded minute
Recording storageThe first 100 MB is free. Beyond that, pick the bundle that fits how long you need to keep recordings. KSh 5991 GB a monthKSh 1,9994 GB a monthKSh 9,99950 GB a month
Extra phone numberOnly if you want more than the one included with your plan. Ask inside the app and we order it for you. KSh 1,000per number, per month
Text messagesCharged per message at the network rate. Tell us your volumes and we will quote it. On request

Rates exclude VAT. Calling credit is bought inside the app and is used for calls and messages; it is not refundable as cash.

The difference

Against the phone on the desk

A mobile line or an on-site PBX

  • Hundreds of thousands of shillings up front for handsets, a PBX and cabling
  • An engineer on site for every change to a menu or a new starter
  • One line, one person — the second caller hears a busy tone
  • No recordings, so a dispute is one word against another
  • Nothing to report on: no queue length, no answer rate, no wallboard
  • Airtime burned on calls your customer was paying to make
  • Tied to one building — nobody answers from home

Questions

What people ask before signing up

Do I need to buy phones or install anything?

No. Agents answer calls in a browser tab with a USB headset. There is no PBX to install, no handsets to buy and nobody needs to come to your office. If you already have IP phones we can usually point them at the system instead.

How much does a call centre cost in Kenya?

Plans start at KSh 1,780 a month for three people answering calls, including one Kenyan phone number. Incoming calls are free. Outgoing calls are KSh 3.00 a minute billed by the second, and recording is KSh 0.50 per recorded minute. There is no setup fee and no contract.

Is a phone number included, and can I keep my existing one?

One Kenyan number is included with every plan, and extra numbers are KSh 1,000 each per month. Numbers are ordered on your behalf rather than self-service, so tell us what you need — a 020 landline, a 0800 toll-free line or a short code — and we will arrange it. If you already have a number with a carrier, talk to us about pointing it here.

Can I pay for a year in advance?

Yes, and it costs less. Pay quarterly and 2% comes off, half-yearly 5%, and yearly 10%. You choose the billing cycle when you sign up and can change it later. Monthly is the default and you can stop at any time.

Can my agents work from home?

Yes. Because the softphone runs in a browser, an agent needs a laptop, a headset and a decent internet connection — nothing else. A team split between the office, Kisumu and home shares one number and one queue, and the wallboard shows all of them together.

Does it work for outbound calling and SMS campaigns?

Yes, from the Business plan upwards. Load a contact list, dial through it, and send the follow-up SMS from the same screen. It is used for collections, renewals, appointment reminders and surveys. Tell us your message volumes and we will quote the SMS rate.

How long does it take to get going?

Signing up, adding your team and building your first menu takes an afternoon. The only part that waits on us is the phone number itself, which we order for you. Most organisations are answering calls within a day or two of signing up.
