Short answer
Order the .sc.ke domain, then send us the school's Ministry of Education registration certificate. Once KeNIC approves the documents, the domain is activated. Colleges and universities use .ac.ke instead, with proof of the institution's registration.
A .sc.ke address (for example yourschool.sc.ke) tells parents and learners straight away that your website belongs to a registered Kenyan school.
Who can register .sc.ke and .ac.ke
- .sc.ke: primary and secondary schools registered with the Ministry of Education.
- .ac.ke: colleges, universities and other institutions of higher learning.
Steps
- Search for the name on our domain registration page and add the .sc.ke to your cart.
- Pay by M-Pesa, card or bank transfer.
- Send the document: the school’s Ministry of Education registration certificate (for .ac.ke, the institution’s registration or accreditation certificate). Reply to the order email or open a ticket.
- Approval: the registry checks the document and the domain is activated.
While you wait
Get your hosting ready so the website goes live as soon as the domain is approved. Our Moodle and school hosting puts the school website, Moodle e-learning and staff email on one plan.
Tips
- Keep the name short and close to the school’s official name, such as
stmarysnairobi.sc.ke. - Use the same domain for staff email, for example [email protected].
- Not eligible? A .co.ke or .or.ke works well for private schools, academies and training centres.
